An artist I’d like to tell you about

It is a well-known fact that contemporary art has become an integral part of our lives. Especially when talking about modern and abstract art and famous artists. There are many wonderful representatives of modern abstract art nowadays, but one of the brightest and most successful ones is world-famous impressionist Leonid Afremov. I would like to mention that the works of this artist are mainly created with palette knife and oil paints. Due to unique technique and style of Afremov, his paintings cannot be confused with any other ones in the world. This is hopefully why he is deservedly considered to be one of the elite members of the famous Vitebsk art school, along with Malevich and Kandinsky.

 

A couple of facts

 

Leonid Afremov was born in Vitebsk (the city of Belarus) in 1955 and lived there until 1990. I guess this is the year his talent reached real heights – his works are getting more and more unique and extraordinary: Afremov tries to fill his paintings with bright colors and positive emotions, this will later become a recognizable signature in his works. A decent representative of Jewish artists, Leonid later moved to Florida and then to Playa del Carmen in Mexico. Admiring many picturesque views of these countries, Afremov never forgot to use all of them in his sunny bright landscapes, city scenes, seascapes, flowers and portraits.

The unusual drawing technique

 

 

Not to mention Leonid Afremov is a bright example of abstract wall art, his unusual drawing technique is considered to be rather unique and simple:

 

• A palette knife is used instead of brush, this is the only tool for painting for Leonid while he puts brush strokes on a canvas. These strokes are later formed in the stunning scenery.
• All topics in his works are very simple, anyways, you just can’t take your eyes off the nature, rain, night, park, flowers and sea depicted on the canvas. I personally can’t help admiring the glow and wealth of colors in his paintings – each stroke is always made in a very professional manner.
• It seems like the drawings of  Leonid Afremov evoke a sense of pleasure and admiration of the world. The reason is simple – the artist always tries to reflect his personal memories and emotions when drawing.
• Besides, Leonid enjoys travelling a lot. Inspired with different landscapes and views of many beautiful countries, he keeps on creating real masterpieces of art. This is why Afremov’s paintings will always remain a wonderful example of modern abstract art for sale.
• The artist conveys his own feelings through his pictures, it seems like we observe the world through his own eyes when looking at works of Afremov.
